They say, ‘never judge a book by its cover.’ The same can be said for a person, wolf, or shark, for that matter! Aaron Blabey, author and executive producer of The Bad Guys book series and Dreamworks Animation newest movie, sat down with me to discuss his journey to creating this widely-loved series and how it became the most recent release from Dreamworks. The Bad Guys show that perception is just that, perception. Helping kids understand the valuable lesson of getting to know the person before assuming who they really are.

Australian author and illustrator, Aaron Blabey has written many well-loved best-selling books for children. Aaron Blabey is a #1 New York Times Bestselling author with around 30 million books in print. He is the creator of three gigantically popular book series for kids – The Bad Guys, Pig the Pug, and Thelma the Unicorn. His THE BAD GUYS series is a fan favorite. Featuring several animal main characters, who have a reputation for being bad (a wolf, a shark, a piranha, and a snake), but who actually want to do good. It is a hilarious concept and has spawned 14 big bestsellers and is now a movie adaptation coming from Dreamworks Animation (Universal). Aaron also serves as the co-executive producer of The Bad Guys movie due in theaters on April 22nd and the upcoming Netflix movie-musical adaptation of Thelma the Unicorn.
